For the most part, no. But we will ask you to stop any medications that thin the blood. These include both prescription and over-the counter medications. It is important that you provide us with a full list of medications and supplements. Many over-the-counter (vitamin store) supplements can cause bleeding. In general, stop all of them about a week before surgery. On the morning of surgery you may take your important pills with a sip of water.
